It was a good-sized crowd that filled the Maple Lake American Legion, Saturday, March 10, for the 13th annual Irish Party.
Guests were drawn to the event for food, fun, entertainment by comedian Mary Rowles and most importantly, to support the Maple Lake Chamber of Commerce.
Saturday night’s event kicked off the St. Patrick’s Day Festivities on a good note, according to Linda Rassat who helped to chair the event.
“We had a very good crowd, we were very pleased,” said Rassat who counted 185 tickets sold to the dinner fundraiser and 190 ate. By the end of the night the chamber raised around $4,000 to go toward the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and other events the organization holds throughout the year.
As every year, the event features a silent auction, raffle prizes and awards ceremony along with food and entertainment. The Chamber raised $1,100 on raffle sales alone, said Kathy Hennen who helped chair the event.
Monica Scheiber won the iPad donated by MP Nexlevel; Jean Kramer won the $100 donated by Star Bank; Laura Marketon won the Stihl Leaf Blower donated by M&M Express and Sandy Becker won the Cradle Planter donated by Twin Lake Design. Mary Denzin won $130 in the card raffle and Vickie Gries won $260.
