Grass fire starts in Maple Lake

The Maple Lake Fire Department responded to this grass fire at a farm near County Road 7, Monday, April 23, around 3:30 p.m. Twelve fire fighters worked for about an hour to put out the blaze that started when a fire lit by the owner got out of control, Assistant Fire Chief Scott Carriveau said. About three acres were burned. No structures were damaged, and no people were hurt in the fire. Carriveau reminds the public that burning restrictions on non-recreational fires begin on Monday, April 30.
