Brooke Ankerfelt, a Maple Lake High School graduate, finished her sophomore softball season at Concordia College, Moorhead by being named to the MIAC All-Conference Team. Ankerfelt led the team in hitting in conference play as the team’s starting second baseman. This is her first all-conference honor and she is the ninth Concordia player in the past 10 seasons to be named to the MIAC All-Conference Team. Ankerfelt played in 19 of the team’s 22 MIAC games this season. She hit .333 with 16 hits and five walks. She also had a .396 on-base percentage and a .354 slugging percentage.
Ankerfelt led the team in almost every offensive statistical category in league games. She was tops in batting average, hits, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, total bases and walks.
Ankerfelt had at least one hit in 12 of the 22 league games. She had five multiple-hit games and her season best came against league champions St. Thomas when she had three hits and went 3-for-3. Ankerfelt finished off the year by collecting at least one hit in four of the last five games. Ankerfelt had the second longest streak of a Cobber for reaching base during the year. She got on base in six straight league games against St. Olaf, Hamline, St. Catherine and St. Thomas.
