The Maple Lake High School baseball program is planning a fundraiser for Logan Weninger, a MLHS sophomore who was seriously injured in an ATV accident, Sunday, April 20 near Maple Lake.
The fundraiser will take place during the varsity team’s doubleheader with Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted on Tuesday, May 8 starting at 4 p.m. at Irish Stadium. All proceeds will go to support Logan and the Weninger family. “Stronger Than You Think” wristbands will be on sale for $3 each, there will be a split the pot raffle, a pig roast and hot dog BBQ with a free will offering and a silent auction. The JV teams will play a single game at Irish Diamonds at 4 p.m.
According to Logan’s Caring Bridge Site, the 15-yearold continues to improve.
“They removed the ventilator which happened around 11:30 a.m. The procedure took less than 15 minutes then he was on his own to breathe and to our amazement we almost instantly had our Logan back,” his mom Lisa Weninger wrote on his Caring Bridge journal Saturday, April 29. Her latest entry asked for prayers as he continues occupational therapy and attempts to stand with assistance.
“We feel like a broken record but we feel so appreciative of the generosity from each and every one of you from sharing prayers with us, scheduling a time to visit now that Logan is more alert and the overwhelming care packages and monetary gifts,” Weninger wrote.
Logan is the son of Lisa, a counselor at Maple Lake Elementary and James, an agriculture instructor at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School.
