It’s on to State for Irish girls track and field

The Irish girls put together a string of title-winning performances at the True Team Section Track and Field meet last week that will see them to yet another State appearance.

On Tuesday, May 8, the Maple Lake boys and girls teams traveled to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted with the hopes of earning a trip to the prestigious event this weekend in Stillwater. The boys team fell short, but that hope was realized on the girls’ side after a closely-contested meet that saw the Irish narrowly edge Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted and Concordia Academy for the Section 4A True Team Championship, the Irish girls’ sixth title in seven years.
