After two runner-up finishes the Maple Lake softball team finally laid hands on their State Tournament Title last week in Mankato after crushing St. Peter 11-1 in five innings in the championship game.
The Irish went into the contest with a sense of unfinished business Thursday, June 7, after Zumbrota-Mazeppa ended their otherwise perfect season last year in the final game of the tournament. In 2015, it was Kasson- Mantorville who ended their run.
