The Maple Lake track and field teams had three of the eight athletes competing at State last weekend reach the medalist stand in their events.
Freshman Maggie Larson posted the days’ top finish by placing second in the triple jump at Hamline University, Saturday, June 9. Her red ribbon and medal marks the highest finish ever for the Irish girls track program at the Minnesota State High School League State Track and Field meet.
Gracie Elsenpeter claimed a spot on the third-place platform after cruising through the 100- meter hurdle preliminaries on Friday, June 8 to qualify for the finals on Saturday. On Saturday, she held onto third for the white ribbon and medal.
