Red, white and blue

The red, white, and blue was loud and proud when Reading with Rowdy met with Storytime with Marie at the McHugh Building for their annual patriotic parade up and down Birch Ave. The children listened to a short story about a parade on the 4th, and learned about the history of our flag. Each child received a white visor and stickers to decorate it for the parade. Then they received a flag and a kazoo to use in the parade. After Marie showed them how to use the kazoo, they had fun making “music” with it along the parade route. They want to thank the parents and grandparents who walked with their chidren in the parade and a BIG thanks to the business people and other friends who took time out to watch and cheer for them as they walked by! It was a fun morning and a great way to start the 4th of July holiday! Pictured are all the children who were in the parade: Front row: Elijah Carriveau, Hayden O’Connor, Asher Pack, Caleb Pack, Axel Melgaard, Tate Nordling, Everett Smith.
