Storytime comes to “the end”

The last storytime for the summer was very busy with 18 children and eight adults as we reviewed each week and highlighted the fun stories and activities we did with each one. The children brought in some fun things to show how they liked to enjoy the summer! Marie even shared the clown hat and shoes and a picture of her in her Clown Arounds Clown Club costume when she performs at lots of summer parades with her clown friends, as the way she enjoys the summer. She read them the book “The Clown Arounds Go On Vacation.” Then each child received a blank paper with only grass and clouds on it and they used stickers from another paper to make a summer picture of the different things they discussed each week. Each picture was put together any way the children wanted, with stickers left over to bring home for another picture. Each child received a small bag of cookies to take home after the weekly picture was taken. Pictured with their sticker creations are, front row, from left, Aubrey Witherbee, Axel Melgaard, Dominic Lang, Matthias Lang and Everett Smith. Back row, from left, Kaitlyn Uecker, Wyatt Witherbee, Olivia Decker, Elijah Carriveau, Madeleine Lang, Tate Nordling, Elijah Carriveau, Gunnar Melgaard, Kate Peterson. Not pictured, Samuel Carriveau, Emery Nordling, Roman Lang, and Gavin Decker. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to the Recovery Center for letting us use their building each Monday morning for our storytime. We had a nice big room with lots of space to spread out with our activities and our projects! ANOTHER BIG THANK YOU to all the parents, daycare workers, and grandparents who took the time to bring in the children so we could have good size groups each week to have fun with. AND A FINAL BIG THANK YOU to all the local business people who donated prizes or money to purchase prizes for our Read And Redeem program which all the children enjoyed getting at the library after each storytime this summer. It has been a GREAT summer at the library! We hope you can continue using everything that the library has to offer the rest of the year, and that you come back next summer for more reading fun!
