Allone Dee Potter was born on December 12, 1932 to Peter and Delilah (Schmidt) Potter in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Allone grew up in the Osseo area where she graduated from high school. Following high school, she worked as a cook for approximately 10 years in Robbinsdale. She then moved to her farm near Maple Lake when she began her career as a medical circuit board assembler. In 2000, Allone officially retired as an assembler from Remmele Engineering in Big Lake. Allone’s love of animals was always present throughout her lifetime. What started as raising horses on her farm quickly evolved into entering them into parades, showing them via halter showings, to whips and wheels, to simply riding them. Her love was also shared with those near and dear to Allone, with many nieces and nephews learning how to care not only for the horses, but also their environment. Her love of God’s creatures did not end with horses. It was not uncommon for an animal with various issues to end up at the end of Allone’s driveway, as those around knew Allone’s love and care would help mend the creature. Over the years, she cared for a number of unique pets including foxes, peacocks, pigs, and a monkey. Allone also took a special interest in birds, what started out as a crow sneaking shiny objects from her, flourished into a love of pheasants and chickens. Allone’s chickens received many national and international awards over the years, including from the Minnesota Poultry Association. Allone’s love and knowledge of animals was something she enjoyed sharing with those around her. Allone also took a special interest in painting through various medias throughout her life, including during her time spent at the care center. Allone is survived by her sisters-in-law, Barbara Potter and Judy Potter; nieces and nephews, Stephen (Melissa) Potter, Todd (Barb) Potter, Kelly (Steve) Bruggeman, Virginia (Dwight) Hawkinson, Cindy (Paul) Provo, Karen (Greg) Herr, Becky (Ralph) Potter, Hank (Pam) Potter, Stacy (Dan) Mol, and David (Kristy) Potter; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Peter & Delilah, brothers Styke, Hank, and Tom, and nephew Rodd Potter. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake. Obituary, Guestbook & Video Tribute online at www.dingmannfuneral.com
