The Maple Lake Lions Club has a motto each of its members try to live by – “we serve.” Steve Mooney exemplified that motto as surly as the Lions vest he proudly wore. On Thursday, Nov. 8, Mooney, a long-time Lion and life-long resident of Maple Lake, died suddenly and peacefully while on an annual hunting trip in the Chippewa National Forest, near Pennington.
