Mrs. Kolehmainen’s 1st Grade Class is learning all about Penguins

                                      Here are some fun facts:

Madison Cain – A king penguin has spikes on their tongue.

Graylie Couette – They don’t live near polar bears, they live in the South Pole.

Mason Dehler – Penguin parents need to protect their babies.

Lillian Enger – Emperor penguins are mostly white and black, they do have some orange by their faces.

Bennett Garding – Emperor penguins keep their egg safe in their brood pouch so they don’t roll away and stay warm.

McKenna Griggs – They can’t fly.

Ben Johnson – They eat squid.

Bentley Latour – Rockhopper penguins fight each other for their nesting spot.

Robert Peterson – They eat fish.

Haven Potter – They eat krill.

Maddilynn Puncochar – The rockhopper penguin has black and yellow feathers on their head.

Silas Thuftedal – They slide fast on their belly.

Tucker Torgerson – Adelie penguin parents both take turns caring for their eggs, they switch jobs every 12 days.

Asher Trapp – They can hold their breath for 27 minutes.

Mindy Woolridge – They swim fast.
