Maple Lake to dissolve Community Ed co-op

By Katie Friedman, Correspondent

At its most recent meeting, Monday, May 11, the Maple Lake School Board voted to give notice to the Annandale School District of intent to dissolve the two districts’ community education cooperative.

It had been expected that on March 30 the Annandale School Board would vote to approve the dissolution of the co-op. But last month the Maple Lake Board learned that due to COVID-19 uncertainty, the Annandale School Board was hesitating to make that move.

By terms of a 2003 contract agreement, a six-month period will be taken to enact and carry the dissolution to completion. The six-month window is initiated at the time either school board passes the vote to dissolve.
