County officials discuss cautious return to near normal in wake of coronavirus crisis

Cautious re-openings of public functions at the Wright County Government Center were highlighted to the members of the Wright County Board of Commissioners during their regular meeting on Tuesday, their first meeting since most public counters in the county building were again opened to the public.

And although the report was generally positive, it was tempered somewhat by the continuation of some restrictions and the additional announcement that the hallmark 150th anniversary Wright County Fair is being postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The doors to the Wright County Government Center opened wider to the public once again on Wednesday, May 27th, as the Wright County Board of Commissioners followed the lead of the rest of the state in gradually dialing back extraordinary precautions taken in the past couple of months in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

An exception is the much-used Minnesota Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office which is re-opening a week later, on Thursday, June 4, but with substantial changes as the department and county attempt to juggle the ongoing needs of the public with the ongoing threat of the COVID-19 virus.
