The Retiree by Jerry Hoem

Recently I met with the yanking specialist referred to in a previous column. He turned out to be my regular dentist, with whom I have established some sort of rapport. He realizes that when I make fun of him I harbor no ill even though he makes me endure pain and makes money doing it. Actually, I do resent that, but ignore it, as I once was an industrial engineer and as such was deeply resented for establishing work standards and making money at it.
