The Maple Lake cross country teams were scheduled to race last week, Tuesday, Sept. 10 at St. John’s University, but the meet was cancelled when St. John’s faculty were exposed to the COVID-19 virus.
The Irish are scheduled to race on Thursday, Sept. 17 at Royalton High School with two other schools, Royalton and Paynesville. Spectators are allowed at this meet, but they must remain in areas designated for spectators. As per Minnesota State High School Guidelines, masks are required for students-athletes when not racing, coaches, officials, meet personnel and spectators if they cannot logistically maintain social distancing of six feet.
The junior high boys’ and girls’ combined race begins at 4 p.m.; the varsity girls run at 4:30 p.m.; JV girls at 4:32; varsity boys at 5:15 and JV boys at 5:17.
