Denim Days reveals different side of school administration

Blue jeans and denim jackets replaced tweed coats and pleated slacks for two days last week at Maple Lake Public Schools where staff were invited to take part in a district-wide Denim Days to mix things up and have a little “extra fun” during an extra challenging school year. Above, administration kicked off the two-day event on Thursday, Oct. 1 when they arrived at school decked out in full denim suits. Pictured, from left is Maple Lake Elementary Principal Andrew Sawatzke, District Superintendent Mike Rowe and Maple Lake High School Principal Dave Hansen. “This is not a common occurrence since they dress quite professionally on a regular basis,” a person in the know who would like to remain unnamed reported. According to the same anonymous source, Hansen hasn’t worn jeans to school since he became principal seven years ago.
