Warm fall day is perfect for ice cream

Despite being delayed from August to October, National Night Out couldn’t have happened on a better evening. The weather was warm and sunny, Tuesday, Oct. 6, perfect for an ice cream treat delivered by the Maple Lake Fire Department. According to Fire Chief Steve Peterson, volunteers handed out every last ice cream sandwich they had on hand which was a total of 432 bars.

Several fire trucks were dispatched to all areas of the city to hand out ice cream to young and old out of doors. And there were plenty of people outside enjoying the beautiful fall day.
