Brute’s Bleat by Harold Brutlag

I hoped the strong wind Sunday would blow the rest of my maple tree leaves into the Hwy. 55 road ditch but that didn’t happen even if I edged them on with a leaf blower. With Monday morning’s rain I suspect I’ll have to bag them before the forecasted snow on Tuesday or Wednesday. Regardless it has been an unusual November week with 69-70 degree days. More warm weather is suggested the week before Thanksgiving, Nov. 26th which is fine with me! Maybe if I’m patient the next warmup will melt whatever snow we have.  I noticed there was an angler on Maple Lake Sunday morning, apparently getting a few hours of fishing before the wind came up. On Saturday, Janis’ birthday, we noticed a boat of anglers on Lake Minnetonka not far from Grey’s bay. It looked like they were trolling. We spent the day taking her to various book stores like Barnes & Noble in Ridgedale and shopping centers in the St. Louis Park suburb including a stop at Nordic Ware which she likes. And she’s not even a Scandinavian!
