Irish football end season on win streak

By Brenda Erdahl

After 14 days in quarantine the Irish football team were as ready to play as ever when they met Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted in the first round of playoffs, Tuesday, Nov. 17.

The Irish hadn’t played since Oct. 30 when they handed Eden Valley-Watkins their only loss of the season. Coming out of quarantine, they had only one day to prepare for the big playoff game, but they didn’t let that stop them. Coach Tim Knudsen said that one day of practice was probably the best they had all season. The next day, they defeated the Lakers at home, 14-6 thanks in part to two touchdowns by Brayden Belanger.
