St. Timothy celebrated Catholic Schools Week last week with dress up days, fun activities including “winter Olympics,” treats and service projects. Students collected 179 pounds of non-perishable food for the Annandale Food Shelf. They also participated in a Pennies for Pounds contest to see which class could bring in the most pennies for the food shelf. The pennies were weighed and tallied by the fourth-grade class. Students collected 168 pounds of coins totaling $316.71. The class that had the heaviest weight for pennies was preschool, totaling 58.8 pounds. Second place was fifth grade, bringing in 24.9 pounds; third place was kindergarten, bringing in 24.8 pounds. “Thank you to everyone for donating,” organizers said.
