Gymnasts win one, lose one in competition

By Brenda Erdahl

Coaches are seeing a lot of improvement from Irish Gymnasts as they draw closer to the end of the season. Last week, the Irish posted several top five finishes in a 136.375 to 123.825 loss to powerhouse Monticello, Tuesday, Feb. 16. Then on Friday, Feb. 19, Maple Lake edged Sauk Rapids-Rice 128.100 to 126.875 in an exciting show of athleticism.

“These ladies are improving so much. We have been adding new skills and becoming more confident with old ones. They still have so much room to grow. I am excited to see what the last couple of weeks have in store for us,” Irish Head Coach Kaitlyn Helmbrecht said.
