Maple Lake speech team is conference champion

For the first time since 1980, the Maple Lake speech team was crowned conference champion.  The meet was held online on Tuesday, March 16. Maple Lake had all team members who competed earn conference placing.

Ethan Pavlenko, 7th, humorous; Avery Kolehmainen and Katie Hagen, 6th, Duo Interpretation; Sarah Neutz, 5th, Informative Speaking; Abby Deyo, 5th, Dramatic Interpretation; Delaney Haglin and Natasha Lodermeier, 5th, Duo Interpretation; Madeline Gindele, 5th, Great Speeches; Angelena Bougie, 4th, Prose Reading; Natalie Neumann, 4th, Informative Speaking; Alyssa Hadler, 3rd, Storytelling; Grace Fritz, 3rd, Extemporaneous Speaking; Isaac Wagner 3rd, Extemporaneous Reading; Josephine Niemiec, 3rd, Great Speeches; Aidan Kolehmainen, 2nd,  Creative Expression; Emily Lewis, 2nd, Storytelling; Hope Jude and Jake Hayes2nd, Duo Interpretation and Anna McClelland, 2nd, Great Speeches.

Out of thirteen categories, Maple Lake took home five conference champions:  Calli Hadler, Original Oratory; Eva McClelland, Prose Reading; Greta Brown, Extemporaneous Speaking; Lexi Hanson, Extemporaneous Reading; and Mary Miller, Great Speeches.
