$1,500 in scholarships awarded to local students of faith

St. Timothy’s Council of Catholic Women (CCW) has awarded two local students $750 each in scholarships to be applied to their continued education.

The recipients received the scholarships at a ceremony on May 26 at the Senior Awards Night. CCW has been awarding scholarships to local women of faith for over 30 years.

The scholarships are made possible by the monies raised through community events which include: bake and craft sales in the fall and around the Christmas holiday, Quilt bingo, just to mention a few activities that our local community members support.

CCW awards scholarships to outstanding student/s pursuing higher education with an emphasis on their participation in church and community activities.This year Madeline Gindele and Megan Lind are the recipients of the CCW school scholarship and a beautiful quilt from S.A.M. (Social Action Ministry), presented by S.A.M. quilter Connie Lahr.

The Council of Catholic Women includes all the women of the Church of St. Timothy. This organization supports and promotes parish projects. The CCW responds to the needs of the Church and society with the values of the Gospels and an attitude of service and spirituality.
