Celebrating 125 years of sports

In 1969, Maple Lake’s High School Band, shown above as they are about to turn into the parade route at Buffalo, took two second places in the highly competitive Invitational Band Day held at Long Prairie. They received recognition in Parade marching coming in second behind highly-rated Cold Spring. In field competition, half-time entertainment, Maple Lake again finished second behind Cold Spring. In the evening Maple Lake participated in the 1200 student mass concert prior to the awarding of the trophies. Maple Lake, Cold Spring and Foley were the only three schools to receive more than one trophy.
