Friday was fishing day for George Palmer and myself when we couldn’t wait any longer despite the warm weather. Actually Friday started off cool and heat from the sun, clouded by the smoke from northern Minnesota and the forest fires in Canada, made for a pleasant morning of fishing. The sunfish weren’t nearly as aggressive as a couple of weeks ago, but we caught our limit of keepers by moving around. The sunfish showed up on the Vexillar so we knew there were fish down there, but some of the time they showed little interest in the pieces of leeches we put on our jigs. I had some fun with the large mouthed bass that took the jig and broke water on a couple of occasions.
