BERNIL “BERNIE” NEUMANN, Annandale

Bernil “Bernie” Neumann, age 96, of Annandale, died Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Annandale Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Middleville Township, Annandale with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Rob Jarvis will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery. The family encourages the wearing of masks while inside the church. Services will be livesteamed on the funeral home website.

Bernil Ruth Hauswedell was born March 13, 1925 in Tyler to George and Emma (Brasket) Hauswedell and was baptized on July 12, 1925 in Sanborn. She graduated from Marshall High School and continued her education at the St. Cloud Teacher’s College. She taught for a short time at Dyckman Country School. On December 22, 1945, Bernie was united in marriage to Arnold Neumann at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Middleville Township and they remained members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for the rest of their lives. Together, they farmed and raised their family in Albion Township. Bernie enjoyed embroidery, quilting, working on jigsaw and word find puzzles, gardening, painting, square dancing and playing cards. She loved to travel, including a special trip to the Holy Land with her sisters.

She is survived by her children, George (Becky) Neumann of Annandale and Robert (Jean) Neumann of Annandale; son-in-law, Tom Whittaker of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Paul (Carly) Neumann, Nicole (Tony) Byerly, Andrea (Kevin) Skow, Patrick (Jackie) Neumann, Brianen (Kodie) Roelofs and Lisa Neumann; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Colton, Kaylee, and Afton Byerly, Lily Skow, and Kye Roelofs; brothers-in-law, Herold and Ellsworth Neumann; and sister-in-law, Adeline Neumann. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Louise Whittaker; and sisters, Mavis Ysker and Donna Miller.

The casket bearers will be her grandchildren and her grandchildren’s spouses. Jeanette Beckala will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
