Maple Lake cross country runners competed in their first meet of the season at Ney Park on a rainy Friday morning, Sept. 3.

Unlike last year at this annual meet, the race course was filled with runners and spectators. Sophie Pribyl posted the top finish for the Irish, coming in third overall in a time of 21:44. She led the Irish girls to a fourth place finish out of nine teams competing.

Nick Lind was the top Irish runner on the boys’ side, finishing 14th overall in 19:18 and leading his team to sixth place.
