Brute’s Bleat – October 13, 2021

By Harold Brutlag

George Palmer and I fished on Tuesday afternoon, starting about 12:30 and by 2 p.m. we were back at the dock with our limits of 10 sunfish each. I enjoyed a meal of fresh Walleye fillets Thursday evening, compliments of Mike Muller, which was the first time this summer for that delicacy. Delicious to say the least!

With Halloween on the horizon it’s fun to see the various displays people come up with. Take for instance the skeleton riding a lawn mower at the former Jim Borell house off County 8. The display started out with just two skeletons in the back yard, but it wasn’t long before they added a riding lawn mower to their back yard. Apparently they believe in changing the displays because my most recent trip showed two skeletons riding bicycles in the backyard. Another display on County Road 7 showed two skeletons sitting side by side on a bench with a signs saying, “Just married”. The one skeleton was complete with gray hair!
