The Maple Lake girls’ basketball team had much to celebrate last week at an awards ceremony, Wednesday, March 23 at Maple Lake High School. Coaches handed out statistical awards, team awards, academic honors, and certificates for broken records. “We battled through Covid, other illnesses, injuries, and weather-related schedule changes. We had one stretch where we played eight games in 15 days. That meant we played Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Monday. The girls did not complain, instead they stuck together, had fun, and created life-long memories. They respected the game, the opponents, and the officials,” Head Coach Tim Staloch said.
