At its most recent meeting, Monday, July 11, the Maple Lake School Board heard an update from Superintendent Mike Rowe on the state of Maple Lake Schools, which included results from a recent parent survey.
Parents identified the district’s overall strengths to be small class sizes, traditional curriculum, and good communication with families. Areas said to be in need of improvement are course offerings, parent involvement, and technology upgrades.
A look into further details of the survey shows that 75 percent of families ranked the district’s communication efforts as being very high, while 90 percent said they feel welcome at their child’s school. Ninety two percent of families feel their children are safe when they come to school, and 80 percent feel the school is clean and maintained. Eighty seven percent of families surveyed feel the administration has built a strong relationship with their children, and 77 percent feel there are resources when their child is struggling.
Ninety three percent of families report that they feel satisfied with Maple Lake Public Schools.
