The 2022 Gear-Head Get Together in Maple Lake, Saturday, August 20, was the biggest and best yet. Overcast skies and comfortable temperatures in the mid-seventies drew crowds of people to see some of the most unique displays of mechanical ingenuity they may ever lay their eyes on, like the motor that runs with no oil, the rusty yet intriguing 1930-era Rat-Rods, the 1957 squad car with working siren and the intimidatingly large Wright County Swat vehicle.
A couple visitors related via social media how they found for the first time in years, the car they owned back in high school. There were lots of special moments like that. For Anna Elliott Strand it was when the world stopped when the National Anthem played, and everyone removed their hats and found a flag.
