Wright County Health and Human Services (WCHHS) recognizes that the past few years have been challenging and traumatic, creating barriers to individual and community well-being. Through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process, funded by the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP), WCHHS awarded five projects that support community well-being.
The RFP identified qualified organizations to implement projects that work toward changing policies, systems, or environments to improve community well-being. This approach goes beyond a singular event to implement projects that provide ongoing support for communities.
Well-being is directly associated with long-term health. Higher levels of well-being are associated with decreased risk of disease, illness, and injury; better immune system functioning; speedier recovery; and increased longevity.
The five awarded projects are the following:
