Maple Lake Wine and Spirits raised a record $3,777 for the Maple Lake Fire Department at its annual fundraiser. The municipal liquor store tried something new this year and it was a huge success, said General Manager Ang Berthiaume. From Aug. 17-Sept. 7 they held an instore-silent auction where patrons could bid on items like chest freezers, coolers, and neon signs. Wine and Spirits had more than 30 items up for bid and those who participated were very generous. “It was crazy the amount we raised,” said Assistant Manager Kate Heberling. The annual fundraiser is Sponsored by the Municipal Beverage Association and Miller Coors.
