Teachers recognized for educational excellence

By Brenda Erdahl

Four Maple Lake Teachers have been awarded the 2022 Leadership in Educational Excellence Award which recognizes outstanding educational leaders from school districts throughout Minnesota.

Winners from Maple Lake Schools are, Cassie Drusch (secondary special education), Judy Sloneker (Life Studies and school counselor) Tim Staloch (fourth grade) and Stacie Schneider (second grade).

The four staff were recognized this fall at an annual ceremony that strives to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of outstanding educational leaders. Close to 150 educators and administrators are honored each year.

Each spring at Maple Lake schools, staff nominate who they feel meets the award criteria which includes positive leadership, knowledge of the subject matter they teach, how they motivate students to learn and how well they seek to grow as a professional. After nominations are collected, the leadership committee selects the best candidates.
