Yesterday I read the front page story of your February 4, 2023 edition of the Maple Flake Messenger. I couldn’t believe that there was even discussion of draining lakes just to make it match the promotional material and license plates for Minnesota’s claims of it’s 10,000 lakes. I was pretty upset and shocked. I told my husband to come and read the article after I was done so that he could see the craziness. He tried to reassure me that it was not true and must be some sort of joke. But being my stubborn self, I told him “no, they wouldn’t do that, because they would get too many people calling and complaining about them writing something not true.” Still upset, I went to one portion of the story, to read it to my husband. The part that said “ Secretary of wasteful spending Robin Thepeople.” THEN it made sense!! After looking at the paper a little more, we saw that it was a spoof of your newspaper. The “Flake” part didn’t catch our attention at first, obviously. We got a laugh from your fun story. It got my son and his girlfriend too. Thank You!! Well done!!
