As members of the Minnesota State High School League, Maple Lake Schools has the opportunity each year to select a pair of juniors (one boy and one girl) as nominees for the state-wide ExCEL Award. ExCEL, which stands for Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership, seeks to recognize high school juniors who are active in school activities, leaders in their schools, and who demonstrate a solid commitment to community service.
Representing MLHS for 2023 is Kass Fynboh and Nick Lind.
Besides being a junior in high school, nominees must make satisfactory progress toward graduation, participate in an MSHSL fine arts and (or) athletic activity, hold a leadership position(s) in their school, volunteer in their community and other MSHSL eligibility requirements.
