Letter to the Editor

After reading Tami’s letter I wondered if indeed we do react more than we should. President Biden will give a speech on how we can accomplish so much more if we work together. So true. But then don’t finish by blaming the GOP, or that working together means doing what they want.  Our country is under attack and we need to join forces and save it. Years ago a Russian leader, Nikita Khrushchev, stated that the US would be destroyed from within. Are we heading that way? A day later I received an e-mail from a good friend of mine who brought up some points but she was afraid to put them in a letter for fear of some type of retribution. It’s a shame that some people feel that way. She wondered why suddenly we are so concerned about Transgenders, climate change, CRT, LGBT+4, and banning gas furnaces and ovens. Why? To create more chaos so as not to notice what is really going on around us.  Land of the free? Years ago me and many of my classmates spent 2-3 years in the U.S. military to protect our freedoms of religion, press and speech. Was it all for nothing!  All three freedoms are currently under pressure by the socialists in our country, with the help of the MainStream Press who has been their propaganda machine. When all you hear is one side you begin to believe it. The truth is out there. We just need to find it and then spread it.  Let’s work on the serious issues like violence, immigration, fair elections, drug abuse, mental illness, and eliminating hate.  As Tami stated “we have more in common than differences” . In the 1992 LA riots a black man stopped for speeding was beaten by police. He was later quoted as saying “can’t we all just get along”. I think we can.
