Norman Shoberg, 78, a life-long resident of Annandale, passed away Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023 at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins after a long struggle with Alzheimers.
There will be a military service officiated by Reverend Greg Valentine at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery on Friday, Sept. 1 at 10 a.m. with family. There will also be a gathering of remembrance in honor of Norm in the afternoon at 2 to 5 p.m. at the Annandale Pavilion in the park.
Norm was born Sept. 25, 1944 to Robert and Hazel Shoberg. He graduated with the Class of 1962 from Annandale High School. In July of 1965 he entered active service in the army. After completion of military service he was employed at Roma Tool and Plastics in Rockford as quality control manager and moved on to Elk River Tool and Plastics until he purchased and operated Annandale Septic Service until retirement.
You could find Norm most of the time out in his beloved pole shed polishing his shiny truck or anything else in his reach. If anything needed fixing Norm could find a way to repair it! What Norm enjoyed most in his life was deer hunting with his two sons and grandkids. He spent many weeks waiting in anticipation of another great hunting trip that he knew he could always count on.
Norm is survival by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Latour) Shoberg of Annandale; two sons, Chad (Kimberly) Shoberg of South Haven and Justin (Nicole) Shoberg of Maple Lake; four grandchildren, Bryce, Tristan, Tyson and Jordyn; three siblings, Robert (Diane) Shoberg of Annandale, Richard (Julie) Shoberg of New Hope and Krista (Phil) Benson of Cokato. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hazel Shoberg.
