NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Maple Lake Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Maple Lake City Hall, 10 Maple Ave S, Maple Lake, MN 55358. The purpose of the public hearing is to hear from staff and anyone else interested and to thereafter make a recommendation to the city council regarding proposed amendments to the city’s zoning regulations related to commercial kennels and hobby kennels for dogs. Specifically, the proposed ordinance would amend the definitions of such kennels and provide performance standards related to such kennels similar to what is currently required in the city’s animal ordinance. Presently, an interim use permit is required to operate such kennels in the zoning districts where they are authorized to exist. Anyone desiring to be heard regarding the proposed ordinance may speak during the public hearing. A copy of the proposed ordinance is available for inspection at Maple Lake City Hall during regular business hours.
