
Gloria L. Dooley, age 87, of Albertville, formerly of Maple Lake and New Hope, died Thursday, September 7, 2023, at her home surrounded by the love and care of her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2023, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Mark Pavlik as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery, East Maple Lake. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Friday, both at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. A family lead prayer service with a rosary to follow will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Gloria Lee Richardson was born July 20, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Glenn and Gladys (Brekke) Richardson. She grew up in the Robbinsdale area, where she attended high school. On June 5, 1954, she was united in marriage to Edward W. Dooley at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. They made their home in New Hope, along with their nine children. As the retirement years approached, Gloria and Ed moved to Maple Lake in 1994. Gloria continued to make her home in Maple Lake, until moving to the Engel Haus in Albertville in 2018.
Gloria embraced life’s joys and brought light into the lives of those around her. She dedicated herself to her craft, finding immense joy in the world of art through painting, drawing, and quilting. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Gloria was most passionate about her family. Her deep love for all of them was evident in every smile she shared and every laugh they had together. She possessed a sharp wit and a contagious sense of humor. Each brushstroke, every completed quilt, and every laugh being testament to her vibrant personality and creative spirit.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Rich) Stanchfield of Maple Grove, Denise Dooley of Brooklyn Park, Micki (Wayne) Becker of Otsego, Stephen of Maple Grove, Patrick (Diane) of Maple Lake, Catherine (Hank) Breyaert of New Kent, VA, Rosemary (Jim) Wagner of Brooklyn Park, John (Darla) of Brooklyn Park, and Mary Bridget (Nick) Olsen of Maple Lake; 26 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Gladys; husband, Ed; grandson, Jesse; and siblings, John, Robert and Delores.
Jeremy Stanchfield, Patrick Dooley, Christian King, Nick Dooley, Paul Dooley, Stephen Breyaert, Ryan Makar, Alex Dooley, and Robert Olsen will serve as urn bearers. Krista Elsenpeter and Shannon Paumen will provide music for the service. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
