The Irish volleyball team wrapped up a winning week on Saturday, Sept. 23 at a Pierz Tournament to boost their overall record to an even 10-10.
Annandale 3, Maple Lake 1
The Irish kicked off a busy homecoming week on Tuesday, Sept. 19 with the visiting Annandale, Cardinals.
After giving up the first game 19-25, the Irish rallied for a close 25-23 win. After that, the Cardinals claimed the victory with game scores of 15-25 and 12-25.
Avery Lee was eight for 10 serving in the loss with six kills, seven assists and nine digs; Alex Kiebel was nine for 12 serving with three aces, eight kills, nine assists, nine digs and three blocks; Sydney Breimon was five for seven serving with one ace, two kills, one assist, eight digs and two blocks; Grace Ronnenberg had one block; Danica Hageman was 12 for 12 serving with four aces, one kill, one assist and four digs; Ava Knutson was 10 for 13 serving with three aces and six digs; Addison Kramer had one block; Abby Linder had three kills, four digs and two blocks and Eliana Fuller was 16 for 18 serving with three aces and 15 digs.
The Irish served 83 percent as a team with 14 aces and 55 digs.
Maple Lake 3, Holdingford 0
The Irish bounced back from Tuesday’s homecoming-week loss with a 3-0 win over the Holdingford, Huskers. Game scores were 25-19, 25-22 and 25-18.
Lee was 15 for 18 serving with four aces in the win. She also had six kills, 10 assists, seven digs and one block. Kiebel was 13 for 16 serving with three aces, 14 kills, 13 assists and seven digs; Breimon was seven for 10 serving with seven kills and seven digs; Hageman was 9 for 12 serving with two aces, two kills, one assist and five digs; Knutson was nine for 10 serving with four digs; Kramer had one kill and two digs; Linder had four kills and two digs; Joanna Hall was one for one serving with one dig; Avery Rowe had two digs and Fuller was four for six serving with one ace, three assists and 11 digs.
The Irish served 79 percent, had 10 aces and 48 digs total.
