New teachers arrive at school Maple Lake schools sees ten new faces arrive this year

Ten new teachers join the staff at Maple Lake Public Schools this fall. They are , Kristi Abrahamson, Sara Harper, Amanda Labo, Culynn Curtis and Shelby Halderson, Chuck Hartman, Cassi Schiewe, Mikayla Warrick, Bekka Nelson and Ethan Brummer.

Mikayla Warrick

This will be Mikayla Warrick’s first year teaching. She joins the 10th grade English/Drama department. Warrick is a graduate of Southeast Polk High School in Runnells, IA. From there she furthered her education at the University of Northern Iowa. She graduated in May with a bachelor’s degree in English Teaching.

Warrick said she became a teacher because of some amazing teachers in her high school who inspired her to become a better person and help others by becoming a teacher. She said she is looking forward to meeting her students and to start working on the fall play. This year’s production is the Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon.
