Tent fire leads to injuries in Maple Lake

On Sunday, Sept. 3, at 8:51 p.m. Wright County deputies responded to 460 Ash AV. S in the city of Maple Lake for a reported tent fire with injuries. Deputies discovered that two adult females and two juvenile females had been inside of a tent when it caught fire. One of the adult females had been working on an art project involving an aerosol paint can. The aerosol from the can ignited when the fumes came into contact with an insect repellant candle that was reportedly just outside of the tent. All four occupants of the tent suffered burns from the ensuing fire. Maple Lake Ambulance and Allina Ambulance responded to the scene and administered aid to those who were injured. A 20 year old female was transported to HCMC by Allina Ambulance for severe burns to her legs. A 37 year old female was transported by Maple Lake Ambulance to the Buffalo hospital for second degree burns to her foot, hand and forearm. Two juvenile females (14 and 16) were transported to the Buffalo Hospital by family members for minor burn injuries.
