Irish volleyball wins one and loses one

The Irish volleyball team is 11-11 overall and 1-3 in the Central Minnesota Conference after a win and a loss last week.

Maple Lake kicked off the week with a 3-0 win at Swanville on Tuesday, Sept. 26. On Thursday, Sept. 28, the Irish hosted Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City and fell 1-3.

Game scores of Tuesday night’s win were 25-14, 25-19, 25-11.

Avery Lee was 15 for 16 serving with nine kills, 15 assists and nine digs; Alex Kiebel was 11 for 13 serving with two aces, 16 kills, 12 assists, seven digs and one block; Sydney Breimon was eight for nine serving with two aces, five kills, one assist, seven digs and one block; Danica Hageman was 11 for 11 serving with two aces, two kills, one assist, two digs and one block; Ava Knutson was 11 for 12 serving with two aces and three digs; Addison Kramer had three kills, one dig and one block; Abby Linder had two kills, eight digs and two blocks; Joanna Hall was two for two serving and Eliana Fuller was seven for eight serving with two assists and 19 digs.

The Irish served 92 percent, had eight aces and 56 digs for the night.

Game scores in Thursday night’s loss were 20-25, 22-25, 27-25 and 17-25.
