Marathon exceeds $24,000 goal

By Brenda Erdahl

St. Timothy School students rolled up to the starting line of their annual bike marathon, Saturday, Oct. 14 knowing the hard part was done. After weeks of collecting pledges, they had reached their goal of $24,000 and the donations were still trickling in. Now all they had to do was bike nine miles.

It was a dramatic finish, according to school staff who said they were still $13,000 short of their financial goal as the end of the campaign neared, but enough donations came in the final hours to put them over the top.

As a reward, kindergarten through 8th grade students will enjoy a celebratory lock-in at the school the Friday before Halloween with games, food, and fun. Preschoolers will enjoy a party during the school day.
