Irish volleyball players honored at banquet

Maple Lake High School volleyball players were honored for their achievements this season at an awards banquet, Monday, Nov. 20 at the Maple Lake American Legion.

As a team, the Irish tied for fourth in the Central Minnesota Conference with a 3-4 record and four individuals were named to all-conference teams. Ellie Fuller and Sydney Breimon earned 2nd Team All-Conference honors and Alex Kiebel and Avery Lee earned 1st Team All-Conference honors.

Academically, Breimon, Kiebel, Addison Kramer, Lee and Avery Rowe earned CMC All-Academic Team honors by maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.70 and the varsity team averaged a 3.82 GPA for All-State “Gold” Academic Team honors.

For the team-voted awards, Breimon was named Most Improved Player for the 2023 season; Rowe earned the “Brown & Becker Heart of the Irish” Award; Ellie Fuller claimed the “Go!” Award and Kiebel was named Player of the Year.

Numerous varsity letters and other accolades were presented Monday night before the Irish Volleyball Team closed the books on the 2023 season.
