Resource Training & Solutions honored 137 educational support staff from across Central Minnesota at the 2023 Educational Support Staff Award Ceremony recently.

Among the honorees were three from Maple Lake Schools – Joe Brown, Bekka Nelson and Sarah Thomas.

More than 350 people from 37 different school districts attended the event, Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the St. Cloud River’s Edge Convention Center.

Mark Schmitz, Executive Director of Resource Training & Solutions delivered the opening address. Ken Anderson, Chair of the Resource Training & Solutions’ Board of Directors, also conveyed his congratulations to the honorees.

After the evening’s entertainment, provided by singer/songwriter Becky Schlegel, Stefanie Youngberg, Superintendent of the East Central School District, delivered a congratulatory speech to the honorees and presented the awards.

Member districts and schools across central Minnesota nominated staff based on knowledge of work responsibilities, demonstration of safety, cultivation of respect, acting as a positive role model, displaying a genuine concern for others, and making a difference in the lives of students, staff, and the community.

Resource Training & Solutions partners with participating school districts to sponsor the Educational Support Staff Award Ceremony each year. Shari Fruechte, Events and Administrative Coordinator, and the Learning and Development team at Resource Training & Solutions coordinate the event.
