A message from the Wright County License Center

The Department of Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) added nine new special license plates in 2024, the most ever released in one year. The Timberwolves, Lynx and Wild designs are available for purchase along with the Lions Club plate. The final plates including Minnesota United and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR) plates have yet to be released.  Nearly 4,000 blackout plates have been sold since January 1 across Minnesota. All newly released specialty plates will cost $15.50 and require a minimum annual contribution of $30 (registration and filing fees separate). The Vikings and blackout plates will be stocked and available for same-day purchase at deputy registrar offices as inventory allows, including the Wright County License Center. All plates will be available to order online or in person at a deputy registrar office and mailed out to the recipient. DVS offers 123 different special plates and issued about 143,000 special plates in 2023. A full catalog of available special plates is available in this online brochure. https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/dvs/forms-documents/Documents/Special-Plates-Brochure.pdf

The DVS offers more than 100 specialty license plates.
