In this time of immense grief and loss, let us remember Amelia Kay Cook, a precious angel who brought immeasurable love and joy into the lives of those around her. May her brief life serve as a reminder to cherish the fleeting moments and hold our loved ones close, for it is through love that we find solace in times of sorrow.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2024, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Maple Lake with Rev. Culynn Curtis officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Lake Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
From the moment her family learned a baby would be joining the family, Amelia Kay Cook instantly brought joy, hope, and eager anticipation to all those who anxiously awaited her arrival. Amelia was born at 3:45 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the Maple Grove Hospital at 23 weeks and 6 days. She weighed 1 pound, 1.5 ounces and was 11.3 inches long. Amelia was baptized into the Christian faith with her family and care team in attendance. At 8:20 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, sorrowful heartache filled the hearts of Amelia’s family as she took her last breath 1 day, 4 hours, 35 minutes after her birth. Though Amelia’s time on this earth was brief, her impact was immeasurable. Her tiny kicks and delicate coos were a source of pure delight, a testament to the boundless love and happiness she brought into the lives of her family. Despite her young age, she had already woven a tapestry of deep connections within her family, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Amelia’s family provided her with an abundance of love and care during her brief time with them. Her sister, Eleanor, adored her from the moment she found out she was going to be a big sister. Through the sound of her family’s voices, Amelia experienced immense comfort as she was cradled in their love, enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and tenderness.
As her family gathers to bid farewell, they will find solace in knowing that Amelia’s spirit will live on in their hearts and memories forever. She is survived by her parents, Travis and Rebekah Cook of Maple Lake; adoring big sister, Eleanor; grandparents, Thomas and Cindy Cook of Maple Lake and Brian and Melissa Fredrickson of Remer; great-grandmothers, Elaine Nelson of Remer and Marsha Mills of New Hampshire; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members. There to welcome Amelia to heaven were her grandpa, John Mills III, and her great-grandparents.
Casey Sumstad, Aaron Cook, Katie Fredrickson, and Nicholas McGee will serve as casket bearers. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
